“Mister Twister ~ Blue & Gold Macaw,” is an original acrylic painting on archival Strathmore 500 illustration board.

This was a fun painting of a macaw in a fun, wallspace-saving shape and was sold at an Atlanta-area bird show, so I am sure it has a very happy home.

The bird was sitting on a beach chair enjoying a rowdy day poolside, and was being buzzed by a flying foursome of green cheek conures when I drew the rough sketch for this artwork, which is why he looks so animated.

I opted to put him in a more natural environment and playfully added brush strokes of a specialty acrylic gel medium from Golden that included mica flakes to add texture and a gold sparkle to the bark of the liana or branch.
